Local authorities say a man known for climbing high-rise buildings has di-ed after an apparent fall from a skyscraper in Hong Kong.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Local police confirmed to Insider that a French man known for playing extreme sports di-ed in a fall from a high-rise apartment complex in Hong Kong.

Remi Lucidi, 30, has recorded herself climbing tall buildings around the world on her Instagram account.

Lucidi was last seen alive when he knocked on the 68th-floor penthouse window of one of the three buildings in Tregunter Tower at around 7:30 p.m. local time on Thursday, a source cited as familiar with the matter told Laura Westbrook of the South China Morning Post.

A maid in the building spotted Lucidi at the window and called the police, according to the newspaper.

Police told SCMP that Lucidi arrived at Tregunter Tower shortly after 6 pm. Thursday and told a security guard he was visiting a friend on the 40th floor.

Lucidi entered the elevator before the caretaker discovered residents didn’t know him, the newspaper reported.,

Footage from the building’s security camera shows Lucidi exiting an elevator on the 49th floor and then taking the stairs to the top floor, according to SCMP.

Security guards also discovered that a lock on the top floor had been opened but failed to locate Lucidi, the newspaper reported.

After arriving at the scene, police found Lucidi on the ground floor and confirmed him dead, SCMP reported.

After an initial investigation, it is believed that Lucidi fell from a ledge or platform on the building, however, the cause of de-ath is expected to be determined after an autopsy, according to the same profile.

Police found Lucidi’s camera at the scene, which contained extreme sports videos, according to SCMP.
